To draw high-end clothing and accessory merchants, Vinted, a Lithuanian second-hand expert, has announced the launch of product verification services for items costing more than €100. This system is the product of several months of testing.
For buyers of qualifying items, the service is an optional add-on that costs € 10. Vinted claims that competent and knowledgeable personnel stationed in Hamburg will take care of these matters. The marketplaces for French, Italian, German, Belgian, and Dutch consumers will be the first to offer this service. This comes after Rebelle, a German website for luxury reselling, was purchased last year.
Buyers can look for verification via a unique emblem on product pages, depending on the brand and selling price. Approximately a hundred brands, including Bottega Veneta, Céline, Jacquemus, Adidas, and New Balance, are presently eligible. Vinted wants to steadily increase the range of brands, markets, and categories that it can verify.
Adam Jay, the CEO of Vinted, stated that since the company’s founding 15 years ago, “our commitment has always been to make second-hand fashion the first choice for everyone.”
