Circulose products are introduced by Cone Denim

At Kingpins New York, the US-based mill—which also has sites in Mexico and China—will introduce its first line of viscose created using Renewcell’s Circulose pulp.

The base for many regenerated fibers, such as viscose, lyocell, modal, acetate, and other synthetic cellulosic fibers, is cellulose.

The round component is present in two fabrics. Lenzing’s Tencel, 29 percent regenerative viscose manufactured using Circulose, and RCS-certified pre-consumer recycled cotton are combined to create the Wonderwall, a mid-weight, stiff fabric.

Eden is a second supplementary product that contains 31% regenerating viscose derived from Circulose. Cone said that the stretch level of the fabric is adaptable enough to fit different body shapes.

Director of product design at Cone Denim Pierette Scavuzzo remarked, “In making these products, we’ve challenged ourselves as denim producers to develop fabrics that promote circularity in fashion with increased percentages of circular and recycled raw materials.”

Cone’s efforts to commercialize sustainable solutions are enhanced by the Circulose series. It works closely with Accelerating Circularity, a nonprofit that creates innovative circular supply networks and business plans to turn waste textiles into widely used goods.
