Mango provides training on sustainability to its employees

To enhance its sustainability comprehension, the Spanish fashion brand Mango has partnered with the Polytechnic University of Madrid’s Centre for Higher Education in Fashion Design (CSDMM, Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda). The two have an agreement in place, and in 2024 they will design a training curriculum.

The university’s Centre for Higher Education in Fashion Design will provide sustainability training to about 250 Mango staff members, the company announced in a news statement. The goal for buyers and designers from all Mango garment lines is to provide training in areas like as recycling techniques, the latest developments in more sustainable materials and fibers, certifications and labeling, and the implementation of circularity principles while producing collections.

A press statement from the company states that one of Mango’s objectives is “to attract and retain talent at Mango,” which includes providing training for employees. “We want to continue promoting our company based on our company values, training and development, and rewards and benefits for our employees,” said Leila Rettali, global director of talent and organizational development at Mango, in the press release. Forbes named our organization as one of the top global employers in 2023.

Mango also aspires to collaborate and build relationships with organizations that share its dedication to furthering education and knowledge production. In a news release, Mango said that it plans to take “a big step” toward adopting a more sustainable economic model.

Madrid Polytechnic University’s declared mission is to “improve society by generating and transferring knowledge and training future professionals.” To do this, the institution collaborates with businesses and organisations in the fields of technology, sports, fashion, and architecture.
