million yen, up 12.1% from January 2022, and they made up 0.5% of all exports.
Japan imported 3,494,110 million yen worth of apparel in 2022, a 23.2% rise over 2021. In 2022,
the value of textile yarn and fabric imports increased by 25.7% to 1,261,222 million yen. In
2022, Japan exported textile yarn and fabric for 772,688 million yen, a 15.2% rise over the
previous year. In 2022, its exports of textile machinery rose by 26% to 301,414 million yen.
