The president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Faruque Hassan, emphasized the opportunity for ready-made clothing exports to Brunei Darussalam.
This observation was made when Haji Haris Bin Haji Othman, the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Bangladesh, and BGMEA President Faruque Hassan met.
The BGMEA office in Dhaka served as the venue for the meeting.
The two parties engaged in discussions during the meeting on potential trade and investment opportunities.
The focus of the discussions was on improving bilateral ties between Brunei Darussalam and Bangladesh while acknowledging the significant potential for trade and investment cooperation that may benefit both countries.
Particularly Faruque Hassan highlighted the enormous possibilities for exporting ready-made clothing to Brunei Darussalam.
He emphasized the industry’s increased focus on improving its high-value garment manufacturing capabilities and growing its market share in both established and developing markets.
In this context, Faruque urged the High Commissioner’s assistance to investigate ways to increase garment exports to Brunei Darussalam, highlighting the reciprocal benefits that both nations may derive from seizing trade and investment opportunities.
