India’s garment exports to Israel, which totaled about US $81 million in the previous fiscal year, are unaffected by the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
However, the uniform maker Maryan Apparels Company, situated in Kannur, has stated that it will not take any further orders from the area until there is a calm return. For the past eight years, the company has been providing the area with over one lakh uniform shirts every year.
With an annual revenue of up to Rs. 80 crore, the organization has chosen to fulfill existing uniform orders until December but will not take on new ones until the problem is resolved.
We felt it would be best for us to have no direct or indirect relationship to it, even though both parties are disputing their participation in it. Because it is morally right, we will only terminate the economic arrangement once the war is concluded. We are not biased in favor of either side. We won’t accept an order from Palestine now either, he declared.
The business provides uniforms to oil rigs, hospitals, schools, and corporate businesses. Additionally, it collaborates with defense and law enforcement agencies across the Middle East and parts of Europe.
