Together, BGMEA and LHBL promote sustainable waste management techniques

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been formally signed by LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Limited (LHBL) and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) to create a cooperative framework for sustainable waste management.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on November 26 at the BGMEA complex by Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhury, the Chief Executive Officer of LHBL, and Faruque Hassan, the President of BGMEA.

According to the terms of the agreement, BGMEA will actively assist LHBL in promoting among its member companies the ecologically friendly waste management program launched by the company’s Geocycle project.

With operations in more than 50 countries, Geocycle, the Holcim Group’s sustainable waste management division, is a world leader in the provision of industrial, agricultural, and municipal waste management services.

With the help of trained staff, standardized processes, and technological know-how, Geocycle offers innovative, specialized waste management solutions.

The BGMEA’s president, Faruque Hassan, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to environmentally friendly waste management for the RMG sector. He emphasized the value of cutting-edge approaches like Geocycle in resolving the waste issues facing the sector.
