The denim industry’s Kingpins and Messe Frankfurt join forces for growth

Messe Frankfurt, a leading trade fair organization, and Kingpins Show, a premier tradeshow specializing in the denim industry based in the United States, have announced a strategic partnership that will strengthen their commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth within the denim community. Messe Frankfurt’s new involvement as a shareholder in the Kingpins Show strengthens the textile portfolio’s footprint in the denim sector and demonstrates its commitment to the industry’s growth.

Messe Frankfurt is the global market leader in textile trade exhibitions. It has a one-of-a-kind portfolio that now includes roughly 50 international trade fairs in 11 countries. These are the foundations of  Texpertise, the textile business network that represents Messe Frankfurt’s full textile commitment. Texpertise Network spans the whole value chain of the textile industry and, as a central communication platform, provides essential information on textile trade fair brands, according to a joint press release from Messe Frankfurt and Texpertise.

The Kingpins Show will continue to operate independently, retaining its character and the ethos that has made it a must-attend event for denim fans all over the world. Messe Frankfurt, as a stakeholder, contributes its worldwide network, unrivaled resources, and industry-leading knowledge to the Kingpins Show’s position as a renowned denim platform.

Denim is now served at Messe Frankfurt events such as Beyond Denim (Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics) and Denimworld (as part of Texworld Evolution Paris).

“We dreamed of selling our show or partnering with Messe Frankfurt since the day we launched Kingpins in 2004.” We were never show people,’ but rather ‘industry people,’ whereas Messe Frankfurt is an 800-year-old exhibition firm with all the necessary expertise, processes, and data. Almost 20 years later, a type of fantasy has come true—we are now both “show people” and “industry people.” “We are confident that this collaboration will significantly increase each other’s opportunities and quality,” stated Andrew Olah, founder and CEO of Kingpins.

“Our collaboration with the Kingpins Show stems from our admiration for their distinct vision and innovative approach to the denim industry.” “We recognize the opportunity to learn from Kingpins, and we believe that by combining our expertise, we can continue to be the stage for business encounters in the denim industry,” said Constantin von Vieregge, president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt Inc.

Messe Frankfurt and Kingpins are both deeply committed to advancing industry sustainability. The partnership will catalyze collaborative efforts that prioritize environmental stewardship and social responsibility, ensuring a more sustainable future for the denim industry by encouraging responsible production methods, promoting circular economy initiatives, and supporting sustainable sourcing practices.

“With Kingpins, we are pleased to strategically complement our global textile trade fair portfolio in a meaningful way.” Our textile business network Texpertise’s international events span the full textile value chain. We are adding a significant premium brand in the denim industry and filling out our current portfolio with the anticipated involvement of Messe Frankfurt Inc in Kingpins,” said Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, the German parent company.

Attendees and exhibitors can look forward to a more robust platform that blends the Kingpins Show’s trademark flare with Messe Frankfurt’s huge network, worldwide reach and unsurpassed resources. This collaboration promises enhanced company opportunities, better market awareness, and expedited industry innovation.
