Primark, a British clothes retailer, is to open five new stores as part of its €50 million investment to increase its retail presence in Italy.
In an open letter, Primark Italy’s director, Luca Ciuffreda, announced this development and the company’s plan to expand to 20 locations in the area in the next years.
The development will bring four new locations for the business to Livorno, Cosenza, and Genoa in addition to a second location in Turin, where Primark opened its first store last year.
Ciuffreda emphasized that these venues will integrate Italian design and retail technologies with an emphasis on creating inclusive settings.
One notable innovation in the nation’s Primark stores will be the addition of self-service checkout lanes.
There’s more to opening new stores throughout Italy than merely adding another one. It has to do with generating jobs in nearby communities. It’s all about expanding our clientele and business. In the letter, Ciuffreda said, “It is about reaching even more customers in Italy with more affordable, sustainable fashion.”
