Peruvian apparel brand Paka introduces natural fleece fabric

With the launch of PAKACLOUD, a cutting-edge polar fabric, Peruvian sustainable outdoor clothing brand Paka has taken a fresh approach to environmentally responsible clothing. The natural alpaca fibers used to create this unusual textile are sourced from the hilly region of Cuzco, Peru. Made from traceable Alpaca fibers, PAKACLOUDTM fleece drastically lowers microplastic shedding and offers an excellent substitute for over 95% of the synthetic fleeces that are currently on the market. The clothing industry’s major source of microplastic pollution is these synthetic substitutes.

Each piece showcases the brand’s dedication to production transparency by including a scannable QR code that identifies the precise farms that provided the alpaca fiber.

In addition to its remarkable softness, genuine fleece boasts sophisticated thermoregulating qualities that provide twice the warmth of conventional synthetic alternatives. Furthermore, a fleece made of alpaca fibers with hollow air pockets weighs half as much as a typical fleece jacket. Its quarter-zip construction and lighter weight enable a variety of layering configurations for the best possible warmth in a range of conditions.

The fleece has painstaking details like flatlock stitching at the inseams to prevent chafing, discomfort, and odors. The jacket also features two flat side pockets for further storage and less bulk.
