The organization behind Munich’s Performance Days exhibition has announced several new elements intended to enhance visitors’ access to the newest advancements in sustainable textiles.
Taking place at the Messe München exhibition center on the 4th and 5th of October 2023, the overall floor space has been enlarged to accommodate a new footwear section, additional stands, and new features alongside the Performance Forum, the Sustainability Lounge, and the Media Lounge.
A special exhibition from Utah State University on the “History of membranes and waterproof materials,” a series of expert talks, and SAZsport’s “Sustain & Innovate” sustainability conference will also be featured in the newly redesigned Sustainability Zone at the show.
The University of Leeds in the UK will present a report on its investigation into the relationship between garment selling price and physical durability. The EOG’s sustainability lead, Katy Stevens, will also present a report on the organization’s Sustainability Data Exchange (SDEX) project.
The findings of an industry survey that examined the difficulties and problems purchasers face when trying to find reduced-impact materials will also be released by the organizers. The survey is still open for additional responses, but the results will be included in a panel discussion on day two of the exhibition. Performance Days will also plant a tree for each online survey that is completed.
“There has always been a bigger demand from exhibitors and visitors for more at the event,” said Marco Weichert, the originator of the show, “but we have curated it tightly so that every stand adds to the conversation around better practice materials.”
