At the Reuters Responsible Business Awards 2023 ceremony in London, Primark, CottonConnect, and RUDI—a division of the female farmers’ organization Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA)—won Partnership of the Year for their partnership in implementing the Primark Sustainable Cotton Programme (PSCP).
Eleven contenders were in the Partnership of the Year category.
The awards recognize collaborations and initiatives that are upending the status quo and paving the path for a responsible future, as well as advancements in sustainable excellence in business.
Primark wants all of the cotton used in their clothing to be organic, recycled, or from the PSCP by 2027. The PSCP program is helping them reach this goal.
“This award is a wonderful recognition of the success we have achieved over the past 10 years and a testimony to the hard work, expertise, and commitment of the partners,” stated CottonConnect CEO Alison Ward. Partnership is crucial to bringing about long-lasting, sustainable change in cotton-growing communities, as it is an arduous task that cannot be accomplished by one organization acting alone. We began with common objectives, and the results are genuinely revolutionary.
