Mayer & Cie of Germany displayed a wide range of solutions at ITMA 2023, ranging from circular knitting machines and braiders to upgrades and digital solutions, to a favorable reception from visitors. The long-established corporation is optimistic that its complete (digital) strategy will allow it to preserve and extend its market leadership.
Three circular knitting machines—a Relanit 3.2 HS, an SF4-3.2 III, and an OVJA 2.4 EM—and an MR15/18C/Single Deck braiding machine took up about half of Mayer & Cie’s ITMA floor area. This underlined the importance of the trade show presentation.
Mayer & Cie’s focus at this year’s ITMA, in addition to high-tech circular knitting and braiding technologies, was on solutions that boost the value and endurance of its equipment, according to a press statement.
The digital platform knitlink, the new Control 5.0 machine control system, the camera-assisted fault identification system knithawk, over a dozen update kits for existing machines, and the new Senso Blue RS oiler system were among them.
“At ITMA this year, we had an extremely diverse range of exhibits and were able to show our visitors much that was new, particularly in the areas of digitization and service, upgrade kits in particular.”
“Our visitors saw and welcomed our approach of extending the life of existing machines as making sense,” said Mayer & Cie managing partner Benjamin Mayer.
For the first time, Mayer & Cie displayed a braiding machine at ITMA. Since 2019, the braiding section has been merged into the company’s Albstadt headquarters.
“While braiding machines are a component of textile machinery, we saw presenting the MR-15/18C/SD braider at ITMA as an experiment and are pleased with the results.” “The machine drew a lot of attention, and we were able to make some interesting contacts,” Mayer noted.
“This year’s ITMA had minimal expectations. The signs of the times include war, rising oil costs, inflation, and recession.
“Not even an ITMA will change that,” Mayer said. Furthermore, there had been severe issues with visas, making it difficult for many potential guests to attend the trade exhibition.
Mayer & Cie’s success was thus measured not by popular demand, but by good visitor comments. “For us, that was an indicator of our future competitiveness,” Mayer added, “and we can be sure of that with our developments.” The fact that we were able to offer such a diverse variety of advancements at ITMA demonstrates our team’s high level of expertise and dedication. We appreciate all of our employees’ contributions before, during, and after the fair.”
