Matalan partners with ten new fashion businesses to expand its online portfolio

With intentions to increase this offer even further the following year, Matalan has added ten more third-party businesses to its website.

Only online is it possible to purchase the new labels Quiz, Pink Vanilla, Blue Vanilla, Roman, Yumi, Mela London, Where’s that From, Izabel, Brand Threads, and Toe Zone.

By this action, Matalan can add even more third-party brands to its already strong portfolio while offering “an even greater choice of stylish and affordable clothing and footwear.”

It allows the budget-friendly fashion company to cater to a broader spectrum of customer needs and provide a larger assortment of styles and sizes, including plus size options.

Matalan asserted that since introducing third-party brands in September 2022, it has been “agile” in responding to consumer demand and appetite.

Highlights include celebrity partnerships with Little Mistress’s Vogue Williams and In the Style’s Jac Jossa, Gemma Atkinson, and Stacey Solomon; numerous styles sold out in less than a day after their release.

“We’re committed to offering our customers a dynamic online experience,” stated Ben Smith, Chief Trading Officer of Matalan.

The news comes after Matalan’s income surged to £ 288.6 million for the 13 weeks ending August 26, 2023, from £ 286.4 million in 2022.

Even while revenue in UK locations increased by 8%, the retailer’s online channel had a 34.7 percent fall in revenue, prompting them to proclaim it “actively targeted for improvement.”
