A “try-before-you-buy” (TBYB) service has been launched in the UK by the vintage-inspired occasionwear brand Rixo in collaboration with Harper, the manager of Rixo’s current concierge service. Customers may try on products at home with no upfront costs thanks to this provision, which is a major first for the UK fashion business.
Established on November 6th via Rixo’s online store, the service caters to individuals who are unable to visit physical stores and offers convenience, particularly for clients who live outside of London or have different limitations.
Expect a single delivery and return procedure from customers; additional back-and-forth deliveries that are usually associated with exchanges are not necessary. Customers who choose the “try-before-you-buy” option will not be charged for the order itself, but they will still need to pay the usual Rixo shipping price.
“We wanted to keep the customer front of mind,” Rixo stated in a statement. We are thrilled to present this industry-first program since we recognize that customers are under a lot of financial strain right now and can’t put many items in their carts and wait for a refund.
According to the company, its long-lasting, reusable RePack packaging can cut CO2 emissions by up to 80% when compared to single-use packaging.
“With the customer at the heart of every decision, we designed a service that gives users the freedom to try on multiple pieces without the financial outlay or credit risk that comes with other solutions,” said Liam Young, creator of partner Harper. It was also crucial to ensure that the service was environmentally and economically sound.
“We discovered that five days was a reasonable period for consumers to decide while guaranteeing that unsought commodities are promptly put back into stock. In addition, the service uses reusable packaging instead of single-use packaging, a UK first that we hope will serve as an example for other socially aware firms.
