The biennial election was held earlier on March 9 at the BGMEA building in the capital. Forum and Sammilito Parishad were the two panels that took part in the survey.
Sammilito Parishad was able to obtain votes for 35 out of 35 directors under the leadership of SM Mannan. In the election, the Faisal Samad-led Forum panel failed to secure any director posts.
A total of seventy candidates competed for thirty-five director positions under the two panels. The areas of Chittagong and Dhaka accounted for approximately 89.18% of the total votes cast.
1,839 out of 2,032 votes cast in the city were at the Dhaka center, accounting for almost 90.5% of all votes cast in the city. Furthermore, Chattogram areas received 387 of the 462 votes, or roughly 83.4% of the total votes cast.
