The Nonwovens Institute (NWI) and INDA, the trade association for nonwoven fabrics, have revealed their workforce development initiative for 2024. The training content range of INDA/NWI encompasses all aspects of the nonwovens value chain, from raw materials to products and processes.
Jointly organized courses combine classroom instruction with practical exercises conducted in NWI’s top-notch nonwoven manufacturing and testing labs on North Carolina State University’s Centennial Campus. All of the courses are made to be useful and understandable for both seasoned nonwoven experts and people who are new to the field or have non-technical backgrounds.
“INDA is dedicated to being the ‘ must-have’ resource for continuing education in nonwovens. We are thrilled to carry on our collaboration with NWI to address the professional development requirements of nonwovens. According to Matt O’Sickey, Inda director of education and technical affairs, “This suite of courses gives organizations serving the nonwovens industry a vital resource to ensure their employees have the knowledge and skills to continuously contribute to the success of the business.”
Elementary and intermediate nonwovens, meltblown and spunbond technologies, nonwoven fabric property development, WIPES Academy, fundamentals of fiber and filament extrusion, nonwoven product development, absorbent hygiene, and specialized subjects like carded nonwovens technology are all included in the schedule.
This year, INDA and NWI are introducing a new initiative called the short course value pack, which allows businesses to buy a block of registrations that can be used by any number of employees to sign up for any number of training courses at a discounted price. According to a press statement from INDA, value packs can be purchased in bundles of five, ten, fifteen, or twenty registrations, with discounts varying from 10% to 25%, depending on the size of the pack.
“A key component of NWI’s service offering is workforce development, and the training courses in the INDA/NWI portfolio are unparalleled in the benefits they provide to businesses who operate in or supply the nonwovens industry. According to NWI executive director Behnam Pourdeyhimi, “the short course value pack program represents a strategic opportunity for business leaders to invest in the knowledge and expertise of their workforce to achieve a competitive advantage in nonwovens, while doing so at an extremely favorable price point.”
