The sustainable apparel brand “Oshin” has been introduced by Mumbai-based designer and businessman Oshin Sarin. The brand sells entirely unisex designs and has debuted its first collection on its new online site.
The brand’s clothing is categorized by “bodytype” rather than “menswear” and “womenswear,” per the label. This is meant to encourage people to develop their unique styles and to support diversity.
The brand stated in a news release that its “single purpose was to elevate unisex fashion by breaking free from the conventional notion that oversized clothing defines it.” “Oshin aims to revolutionize the unisex fashion industry by introducing a novel viewpoint that surpasses the limitations of large clothing and questions established fashion norms.”
Maxi dresses, blazers with matching shorts, and light-washed denim ensembles are the focus of Oshin’s debut collection. The company has implemented a proprietary sizing scheme to promote inclusion even more.
After earning a BFA in fashion design from Parsons, New York, Oshin Sarin worked for the Brooklyn-based apparel company Alix of Bohemia for a year. Sarin decided to start her label after she got back to India to showcase her foreign influences and explore environmentally friendly production methods.
