In a recent interview, Zerobarracento’s zero waste designer and CEO Camilla Carrara emphasized the necessity for a complete strategy that lowers waste, minimizes water consumption, and uses renewable energy sources, from raw material procurement through distribution and disposal. One of the most difficult difficulties confronting the fashion business is supply chain transformation; every stage of the production process must be rethought.
Consumer awareness and collaboration among industry players, together with the sector’s investment in new practices, are critical aspects, according to Carrara. “The industry must invest in innovation and reimagine its practices,” she explained.
Carrara also talked about the slow fashion idea. “Slow fashion encourages consumers to develop a more mindful and conscious approach to fashion, considering the social and environmental implications of their choices,” she continues.
Carrara predicted future trends by observing a surge in desire for timeless, flexible designs, as well as a shift towards local manufacture and handmade workmanship. She believes that slow fashion may inspire new business models that highlight garment longevity, repairability, and recyclability.
