Primark, a low-cost clothing, and home goods retailer is expanding internationally in the US by opening new locations at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, New York, and Concord Mills in Charlotte, North Carolina, the following month.
Primark’s value fashion trends and essentials for the entire family, as well as home goods and beauty products, will be available at the two new stores, which will open on November 9 at Smith Haven Mall and on November 16 at Concord Mills in Charlotte. The two new stores will each be more than 30,000 square feet in size.
As part of the fashion chain’s growth ambition to reach 60 stores in the United States by 2026, these are the retailer’s final two openings for 2023, bringing Primark to 436 shops worldwide and 24 outlets in the United States dispersed over eight states.
“Primark has been in the US since we opened in Boston in 2015,” said Kevin Tulip, president of Primark US, in a statement. “But when I look back at the past year, I’m incredibly proud of the exponential growth we’ve achieved.”
By 2023, Primark will have opened eight stores in the US alone, increasing its market share in New York State and breaking into fresh markets like Charlotte, North Carolina, and the District of Columbia. It also says it has “exciting plans” to further its expansion into the southern US the following year.
