Uzbekistan will open a trading office in Madrid for its textile goods

Recently, Uzbekistan and Spain reached an agreement to establish a trading house for Uzbek textile products in Madrid and to undertake pilot projects for evaluating Uzbek textile products in the Spanish market.

The agreements were reached following a series of meetings an Uzbek business team had in Madrid with important Spanish enterprises. The delegation comprised members from the ministry of investments, industry, and commerce as well as representatives from textile companies.

The group talked about promoting Uzbek products in the Spanish market with Alejandro Pastrana, CEO of Gedepsa.

Issues with distribution, logistics, and marketing tactics for Uzbek goods were discussed in talks with foreign consultant Albert Hernandez.

According to an Uzbek media site, the consultant consented to help with coordinating Uzbek producers’ participation in Spanish tenders and developing contacts with Spanish fashion enterprises.

Opportunities to place Uzbek textile items in retail chains were discussed with El Corte Ingles and Tendam’s worldwide procurement divisions.

Spanish businesses expressed their willingness to take part in international textile fairs that will take place in Uzbekistan in the autumn of 2024.
