Integra Dresses becomes the 204th green factory in Bangladesh with its USGBS Gold certification

Bangladesh has established itself as a global pioneer in the production of eco-friendly clothing, with 204 factories holding the US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED accreditation.

According to the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Integra Dresses Limited, situated in Gazipur, is the most recent company to receive a green tag. The company earned gold certification with an astounding 99 out of 110 points.

Bangladesh obtained 27 green building certifications in 2022, 13 of which were in the platinum category, the highest designation.

Of the 204 accredited manufacturers, 116 have a gold rating, 74 have a platinum rating, and the remaining factories are classified in other categories.

The USGBC is now working on certifying 500 more factories as LEED certified.

Bangladesh is unique in the world, having 54 of the top 100 LEED green factories rated.

It is noteworthy that Bangladesh is home to nine out of the top ten and eighteen out of the top twenty LEED-certified factories globally.
