The textile coalition led by Euratex is promoting social discourse in Europe

With the help of industriAll Europe, Euratex, and the European Commission, a new project called Stitch Together was launched with the goal of promoting cooperation between businesses and employees in the European apparel and textile industry. This project will address the issues facing the industry over the course of two years by emphasizing effective communication and recognizing the delicate balance that must be struck between technical improvements, global competition, eco-friendly practices, and fair working conditions.

Stitch Together will concentrate its efforts on seven European nations—Belgium, Poland, Portugal, France, Italy, Spain, and Turkey—that are well-known for their textile histories. The project aims to equip social partners with improved skills through a series of workshops and seminars, enabling them to actively participate in constructive conversations at the national and European levels.

Moreover, the objective is to enhance their participation in formulating EU policy, primarily with sustainable and circular practices in the textile sector.

Industry and EuratexEurope as a whole has expressed support for this plan. The DG of Euratex, Dirk Vantyghem, emphasizes the value of communication in the impending EU Industrial Deal. Judith Kirton-Darling, Industrialist Secretary GeneralEurope as a whole emphasizes the value of proactive communication in supporting the industry’s successful transition to a green and digital economy while guaranteeing fair treatment for workers. Stitch Together’s ultimate objective is to significantly boost the European textile industry.
