Sourcery introduces a transparency solution for the value chain of cotton

Worldwide sourcing arrangement The Impact and Assurance initiative, which Sourcery has introduced, is supposed to provide transparent and traceable primary data collecting along the cotton value chain.

Sourcery claims that its transparency effort gives the cotton value chain access to primary data that is pertinent to a particular place and has been independently verified.

It went on to add that by providing growers, grower associations, and manufacturers with access to data, the program aims to alter public perceptions of sustainable cotton.

The company’s program is supposed to be able to gather verified primary data in a more dependable, accurate, secure, egalitarian, and scalable manner thanks to the Sourcery Connect App, which was developed in partnership with Bluenumber and provides data with unique digital IDs.

The Impact and Assurance Program, which will be implemented internationally over the course of three years in several phases, is reportedly a crucial component of Sourcery’s Direct-to-Grower Program.

Sourcery claims that their approach strengthens the veracity of the materials and fiber origin of products. It ensures compliance with existing and new legislation and meets grower requests in a world where producers and everyone upstream in the supply chain are being negatively impacted by climate change and economic instability.

As per the reports, the program is expected to enhance agricultural and financial resilience, ultimately leading to a rise in the price of cotton (fabric, yarn, and fiber).
