Sainsbury’s in the United Kingdom has launched the Henry Holland x Bags of Ethics line

From now through September, customers can purchase British Designer Henry Holland’s x Bags of Ethics special collection at Sainsbury’s stores or online. The company will donate £25,000 from the new Pride collection to Akt, a charity that provides access to jobs, education, and training to homeless LGBTQIA+ young people facing homelessness or living in a harsh environment.

The fashionable and environmentally friendly ensemble includes a reusable coffee cup, water bottle, and tote bag made entirely of sustainable cotton and recycled materials. Henry Holland is known for his use of bright hues and slogan motifs, which he has applied to the Bags of Ethics series. The goods incorporate all of the Pride colors and the tagline “proud to be an American.”

All Henry Holland x Bags of Ethics goods are made of 100% sustainable cotton and can be reused, with no single use of plastic materials in the product or packaging. The reusable shopping bags are foldable and printed with non-toxic inks in the Bags of Ethics factory, which employs 80 percent or more women.

Sainsbury’s and Akt collaborated in 2020, and with an extra £25,000 donation from the collection this year, Sainsbury’s and Akt will be able to support young people aged 18 to 25 to be safe and celebrate their identities.

“Sainsbury’s is dedicated to being a truly inclusive retailer, and we understand how important it is to support our LGBTQ+ colleagues and customers.” We are thrilled to bring Henry Holland’s Bags of Ethics collection to our shops, bringing vibrant and sustainable items that can be used every day by all of our customers. Creating a culture that supports and takes pride in diversity is vital to us, and we are excited to bring Henry Holland’s Bags of Ethics collection to our stores. “We’re proud to support Akt and hope that this donation will help them in their incredible work to find safe homes and provide mentorship and training to young people in the LGBTQ+ community,” said Richard Riley, Sainsbury’s head of diversity and inclusion.

“My design’s concept is to empower and encourage allyship with the LGBTQIA+ community.” Pride is a moment for the LGBTQ community to unite and continue to work for equal rights for everyone, but it is also a time for the larger community to demonstrate their support and allyship. This emotion is so essential to Akt’s incredible work, which works relentlessly to help young people who haven’t always had that love and care from those closest to them and are facing or suffering homelessness or living in a toxic environment. The Bags of Ethics reusable bag, coffee cup, and bottle set are built to last. Buy it once and use it forever. “Thank you for your purchase in support of them.” Holland, Henry, a British designer, said.
