Poly spun, PC yarn farther down in Ludhiana and Surat; viscose stable

Prices for polyester spun, polyester-cotton (PC), and viscose yarns fell owing to weak demand. PC and polyester spun yarn prices fell by 2-4 per kilogram in the Ludhiana and Surat markets. In the face of sluggish demand, the price of viscose yarn remained steady. Recycled polyester staple costs have also dropped; virgin polyester staple fiber prices may follow suit. Reliance Industries Limited, a prominent local producer, may lower prices in the next two weeks.

PC and polyester spun yarns exhibited a declining tendency in the Ludhiana market. 30-count poly spun yarn decreased by 1-2 per kilogram, whereas PC yarn decreased by 5-7 per kg. Recycled polyester fiber traded lower as well, down by 3 per kilogram. “Demand in the downstream industry did not improve, prompting mills to offer lower prices.” “They were having trouble finding potential buyers,” said a dealer from Ludhiana to Fibre2Fashion.

According to Fibre2Fashion’s market analysis tool TexPro, 30-count poly spun yarn was marketed at 152-160 per kg (including GST) in the Ludhiana market, whereas 30-count PC combed yarn (48/52) was priced at 210-225 per kg (included of GST). The price of 30-count PC carded yarn (65/35) has been steady at 200-210 per kilogram. The price of recycled polyester fiber (PET bottle fiber) has dropped to $73-75 per kilogram.

Poly spun yarn was offered cheaper in the Surat market, down by 1-2 per kilogram. The price of 30-count poly spun yarn was 140-141 per kg (without GST), whereas 40 count poly spun yarn was 156-157 per kg. “The demand from the weaving industry was very slow,” Snehakar Bansal of Surat-based yarn trading company Varnita Textiles Pvt Ltd told F2F, “which is not enough to keep the yarn prices steady.”

30 count viscose yarn (local) remained constant in Mumbai at 193-200 per kilogramme (without GST). Buyers expressed little interest since they did not expect big demand from the apparel business.

Reliance Industries has modified the pricing of polyester raw materials, including PTA at 83.90 per kg (a 3.30 drop), MEG at 52.10 per kg (a 0.90 decrease), and MELT at 89.87 per kg (a 2.84 decrease). The corporation kept the price of polyester staple fibre (PSF) at 110 per kg for the next two weeks, while market sources predicted a price decrease for the following two weeks.

Cotton prices in North India have steadied following a modest dip on Tuesday. Following the decrease in ICE cotton prices, the natural fibre saw a negative trend. Cotton yarn prices were range-bound as a result of weak demand. Cotton arrivals were limited as the current season draws to a close. 5,000 bales weighing 170 kg arrived in north India. Cotton was traded in Punjab at 6,100-6,200 per maund, Haryana at 6,075-6,175 per maund, upper Rajasthan at 6,276-6375 per maund, and lower Rajasthan for 59,400-61,400 per candy of 356 kg.
