According to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, China’s e-commerce logistics index increased to 112.8 points in January 2024, a 0.4-point improvement over the previous month.
The spike in the logistics volume sub-index, which hit 125.3 points in January—the highest level seen in over two years—is one of the most noteworthy highlights from the most recent statistics. Furthermore, the logistics volume in rural areas has improved significantly, rising 1.3 points to 129.1 points in the same month, bucking a negative trend.
The federation has connected the upward trend in these measures to the growing demand for deliveries as the Chinese Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival, draws near.
