Denimville, a well-known sportswear and jeans manufacturer with headquarters in Guatemala, has used GSDCost as part of a Coats Digital ecosystem expansion.
The action will aid the manufacturer in increasing cost-effectiveness, standardizing cost-to-make processes, and optimizing production efficiency. Following its intensive GSDCost training with Coats Digital’s experts during the first phase of the solution rollout, Denimville is reportedly on track to increase its method-time-cost efficiencies by between 4 and 7%, depending on the garment.
“Coats Digital’s team has successfully assisted us in re-engineering our company with the implementation of FastReactPlan and VisionPLM,” said Edwin Cifuentes, Engineering Manager at Denimville. We will gain from integration benefits with the addition of GSDCost, but a seamless data exchange will also improve operational excellence. To optimize sewing techniques, streamline line balancing, cut costs, and introduce realistic performance targets for machine operators, while also ensuring fair wages, GSDCost will enable us to deploy precise, scientific methods across our production operations.
It’s important to note that Denimville needed three months to complete the certification process for GSDCost, and the teams are eager to use this tool effectively on the production line and in the planning department to maintain the company’s competitive advantage.
The de facto international standard for the sewn products sector is widely considered to be Coats Digital’s GSDCost method analysis and pre-determined timing solution. To build and optimize “International Standard Time Benchmarks” using uniform motion codes and specified timings, the solution promotes a supply chain that is more cooperative, transparent, and sustainable.
According to Georgina Vazquez, project manager at Coats Digital, “We are ecstatic to be extending our solid cooperation with Denimville, Central America’s leading denim manufacturer. The team will be able to establish precise SMVs, enhance operational standards, and optimize manufacturing techniques by implementing GSDCost. Early on in our conversations, Denimville’s CEO, Daniel Hernandez, was quick to recognize the benefits of GSDCost, and as a result, he wanted his staff to get GSDCost certified as soon as possible. We anticipate working closely with Denimville to guarantee that the business continues to be a shining example of industry best practices for many years to come. Denimville is still committed to investing in and implementing cutting-edge and reliable fashion technology solutions. We estimate SMV gains of 4% to 7%, within our initial projection range.
