ITMA 2023, the world’s largest textile and garment technology expo, has begun in Milan, presenting a definitive demonstration of cutting-edge innovations from 1,709 exhibitors from 47 nations. This remarkable meeting aims to demonstrate the industry’s cutting-edge technologies.
ITMA 2023, which will take over 200,000 square meters of the Fiera Milano Rho site, will showcase solutions on advanced materials, automation, the digital future, new technologies, and sustainability and circularity under the exhibition theme, Transforming the World of Textiles.
Since its inception in 1951, the textile machinery show has continued to build on its strong reputation as the worldwide innovation launchpad, according to CEMATEX (the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers), which controls ITMA.
Buyers will be able to acquire freshly introduced machinery and goods across 20 product areas, which will aid in their company’s digital and sustainable development.
ITMA 2023 involves significant involvement from European textile machine industry leaders. CEMATEX nations continue to have a prominent presence on the exhibition floor, as they did in previous ITMA editions. A total of 867 exhibitors used 63% of the net show space.
The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) has the highest representation of 422 exhibitors from Italy. Italian exhibitors take up most areas, accounting for 30% of the total.
“Despite facing numerous challenges, we are pleased by the resounding enthusiasm displayed by our companies,” stated Alex Zucchi, president of ACIMIT. Visitors visiting our members’ booths may expect to see a multitude of technologies and digital solutions.”
Germany has the second largest contingent of exhibitors. A total of 198 German exhibitors took up 15% of the available area. Turkey is the third-largest group, accounting for 11% of the space with 191 exhibitors.
Other non-CEMATEX exhibitors with significant involvement include China (7 percent of space by 231 exhibitors) and India (6 percent of space by 181 exhibitors).
Visitors may now find a wide selection of technology and services thanks to the addition of a new product area – textile composites.
The top five industries in terms of involvement Finishing had 329 exhibitors (27% of show space); Spinning had 257 exhibitors (13% of exhibit space); Weaving had 161 exhibitors (10% of display space); Printing had 146 exhibitors (12% of exhibit space); and Knitting had 128 exhibitors (10% of exhibit space).
Although not among the top sectors, the recycling and software industries have garnered more attention. Both sectors’ display space has been doubled in this edition. In addition, the number of exhibitors has climbed to 31 in the recycling industry and 47 in the software sector.
