Cotton Australia sends a delegation to the Better Cotton meeting in Amsterdam

Cotton Australia representatives recently attended the annual Better Cotton Conference in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Cotton grower Scott Morgan from Gunnedah, Cotton Australia’s Adam Kay, and Cotton to Market’s Brooke Summers all attended the occasion.

According to Cotton Australia’s website, the Better Cotton Conference brought together industry leaders and experts to discuss the most pressing challenges in sustainable cotton production, such as climate action, traceability and data, sustainable livelihoods, and regenerative agriculture.

Morgan, a myBMP certified grower who also participates in the Better Cotton Programme and thus receives a premium for his cotton, spoke on a panel about climate mitigation and adaptation at his farm, including his solar-powered pumps and involvement in cotton circularity trials.

Kay used the conference’s opening session to promote the Australian cotton industry’s efforts to combat climate change.

Over 250 individuals attended the conference in person, and hundreds more participated online, representing the full cotton production chain. The conference featured a variety of formats, including plenary sessions, breakout sessions, and interactive workshops.
